Vashlovani national park was established in the year 1935, it has 84 square kilometres and additionally 250 square kilometres agricultural lands around the park. It means, you have a lot of space in a wonderful nature with almost no civilization.
In National Park of Vashlovani you will find Georgia’s most unique and diverse landscape, with canyons and jagged peaks, expansive savanna dotted hills with pistachio trees, bubbling mud volcanoes, barren plateaus, forested mountains and quite big river forming the border with Azerbaijan.

Itinerary:
Day 1: First riding hours in Vashlovani
We will pick you up at your hotel around 9 o’clock in the morning and drive to eastern Georgia. After 4 hrs of driving, we will get to Vashlovani Farmhouse, where we have a picknick break and then start to get familiar with our horses.
Horses in Vashlovani are very intelligent and patient, which makes it easier to ride, also for beginners with little experience.
Today we will spend just a few hours on horseback and ride just in approximate distance of the Farmhouse. Our guide will also be with us and support us any time we need

Day 2: Ride to Azerbaijan border
After breakfast we will ride direction black mountain (Shavi Mta in Georgian). The mountain became this name because of the color. It’s located at elevation of 800 meters and offers beautiful views over whole area of Vashlovani National Park. From here you can also see the largest reservoir of Caucasia – Mingachevir, located in Azerbaijan.
We continue our ride through “Kaklis Khevi” (Valley of walnuts) and get to river Kura, which forms the natural border between Georgia and Azerbaijan.
Because this area is the border zone, there are some border guards and they will control our passports.

Day 3: Ride to Mijniskure
Today’s ride is the highlight of our horse-riding tour in Vashlovani national park. We will ride mostly at the Kura River and cross the moon landscape with juniper and yew forests.
Lunchbreak we will make at the river and get late afternoon to our campsite in Mijniskure.

Day 4: Ride to Bughamoedani
Today we will have relatively easy ride, with a short distance. We will enjoy the wonderful nature of the park and because the area where we get today is quite flat, we can try to gallop our horses for a long time.

Day 5: Ride to Vashlovani farmhouse
Today is the longest day of our Vashlovani riding tour. We will have an early breakfast and ride through Pantishara valley, from here we continue our ride to the entrance of National Park and at the evening we will get to our starting point at Vashlovani Farmhouse.
At the farmhouse we will have delicious dinner with the barbeque and Georgian Wine.

Day 6: City of love – Sighnaghi
The riding part of our tour is coming to the end, but we still have some cultural highlights of Georgia to visit.
Bevor we get to Tbilisi, we will drive to the romantic city, famous for its special architecture and location – Sighnaghi, known also as the city of love in Georgia.
After visiting Sighanghi we can also have a look inside the nunnery of Bodbe and then drive to Tbilisi
